Not long ago, women made their own soaps at home out of necessity. Not luxury. The soaps were not made of fancy chemicals or artificial smells, but of organic, natural products found on the farm.

Sophie took great care in making her soaps. She would lovingly select flowers and add ingredients that she knew her family or friends would enjoy.

Anna's Wash or Dish Cloths

As a young girl, my grandmother patiently taught me the skill of knitting.



Over and over again she would have me practice my stitches using one of her favorite patterns… the diagonal knit wash cloth. A simple chain stitch for

an inside border is added for personality on some

and all have a loop at one corner for hanging.

This cloth is soft enough for baby yet sturdy enough for use in the kitchen. Made of 100% cotton, you can order them in a variety of colors. Approximately 6.5" x 7" in size. Do not use bleach, tumble dry.

Anna's Wash Cloths for Children

In addition to Anna's "Adult" wash cloths, we have some fun colors for children and babies too.

These are the same size, made of cotton yarn as the others but with no edge stitching.

Colors can be mixed and matched or extra whites available. Please state colors when ordering.

Bertha's Baby Prayer Shawl

Bertha was the oldest of Seivert's daughters. She was delighted to be a "second mom" to many of her siblings and help care for the little ones. Bertha also understood the power of prayer as she joined in the celebration of each new baby and hurt when one baby died in child birth and praised God for the healing of disease that often plagued families of that era.

Today a great gift for a newborn is a prayer shawl. Because of our concern for SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) we no longer give crib blankets. These baby prayer shawls are made of soft baby yarn which is machine washable. It is 7" wide by 18.5" long.

Your baby prayer shawl will come with a prayer card, tied in a white ribbon. What a great way to bless a new family!
